1. Who we are
Just Steps is the trade name of Just Steps B.V. i.o. ("Just Steps", "we", "us"), a private limited company in formation, based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. We are the data controller for the Just Steps marketing site.
Registered details: KvK 66075378 · BTW NL002205504B35.
2. What this site does
The Just Steps marketing site is a static, content-only site. It does not require an account and does not collect form submissions. We count page visits ourselves, on a server we operate, as described in section 3. We do not load advertising or social-media tracking.
3. How we count visits
We count visits and page views ourselves, on a server we operate at Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany), without cookies, trackers, or anything that identifies you personally — only aggregate totals, on the basis of our legitimate interest. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we don't count your visit at all; you can also object by writing to us.
4. What we do not do
- We do not store anything on your device — no cookies, for any purpose.
- We do not run scripts in your browser that report back to us.
- We do not embed third-party trackers, pixels, fonts, or social-media widgets.
- We do not store IP addresses or build profiles of visitors.
- We do not locate you more precisely than your country.
- We cannot tell whether you have visited before.
- We do not sell or share personal data.
5. Server logs
Our web server keeps short technical logs for security and abuse prevention. These do not contain IP addresses: they are removed before the log is written. Logs are rotated continuously and kept no longer than is needed to investigate a fault.
6. Email you send us
If you write to any of our email addresses, we process your message and any personal data it contains in order to reply. Email is hosted by Proton AG (Switzerland), covered by the European Commission's adequacy decision of 15 January 2024, so no additional transfer safeguard is required. Email is retained for as long as is reasonably necessary, typically no longer than two years, after which it is deleted unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
7. Your rights under the GDPR
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@juststeps.io. These rights apply in full to email you send us.
They work differently for the visit counts in section 3. Because we cannot identify you from what we hold there, we are not able to give you access to it, correct it or delete it on request — there is nothing we could retrieve that we could tie to you. We are required to tell you this, and we are not permitted to start collecting more about you in order to make such a request possible. Your right to object still works, as described in section 3.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
8. Changes to this statement
We will update this statement when our practices change. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
